The JDLink M Modem regularly transmits the location and operational status of each mower in the fleet so you can monitor mowing progress in Operations Center.
The modem regularly transmits the mower’s engine hours to inform maintenance planning and balance use.
Factory or custom maintenance plans can be established in Operations Center. Maintenance alerts are sent when engine hours reach maintenance intervals.
On select products, the modem transmits the trouble codes generated by the mower’s control units to the Operations Center. Addressing DTCs can reduce downtime and repair costs. For example, a low-engine oil pressure DTC can indicate an engine is low on oil. Addressing the issue can prevent costly downtime and repairs.
To help address issues quickly, when a DTC is generated, the Operations Center can display a push notification on the mobile app and send an email. Operations Center can also be configured to limit notifications to stop-level severity DTCs.
On select products, the modem reports the time the mower spent transporting, idling, and working. The Operations Center’s Machine Analyzer tool reports usage data which allows you to analyze operator behavior, identify causes of low productivity, and initiate corrective actions.
On select products, the modem reports the fuel level. On these products, an analysis of fuel consumption is available in the Operations Center Machine Analyzer Tool. Measuring fuel consumption enables you to address causes of excessive fuel use.
On select products, John Deere dealers can perform remote diagnostics, software programming, and adjustments without the cost of a service call.
A JDLink M Modem is standard equipment on model year 2024 and newer (SN 110,001-) TerrainCut Front Mowers and model year 2024 and newer (SN 690,001-) TerrainCut Wide-Area Mowers.
A JDLink M Modem can be field installed on the commercial mowing products listed below. Field installation attachments simplify modem installation, and include brackets, mounting hardware, harness, and instructions. Field installation requires a JDLink M Modem to be ordered separately. The field installation attachments include a wiring harness therefore the modem should be ordered with the less harness option code.

Reviews
Yes, It's a little loud but with my headphones on it's great. Yes, It's a little dusty but with some black silicone in a few places it's great. Yes, It's a little hot behind the seat but with a little weather stripping it's great. Much nicer than an open mower. Air conditioner could be better if it pulled air from inside the cab, but it is still great.
Save your money, this the poorest product John Deere has made. I bought it for the cab so I didn't half to eat dust like on my Z trak. Found out it leaked dust around the seat, should of stayed with the Z trak, less dirt and it has no cab! Plus the noise decibel in cab is unbearable.
I have a 2007 1545 with the 7 iron flex deck that I bought used from a Deere Dealership last year. The 72” cut makes my field look like a beautiful lawn the kind at golf courses. The Ruritan Club I belong to was paying someone to cut the grass there and the Z turn they used made the field look terrible so I offered to cut it myself and they agreed and pay for the diesel. They now love the way the lawn at the Club looks. I just take my time and when I’m done it looks so much better than the hatch job we were paying for. Mine is enclosed and has A/C and yes it is a little loud so I use 3M blue tooth headphones and play music from my IPHONE. I was glad to find a used one at a reasonable cost even with shipping from South Dakota to Virginia. The real nice thing about the seven iron flex deck is no grease is needed for the blade spindles they each have their own small gear box and use the same oil as the transmission. Is this over kill for my needs maybe but Wife didn’t like how sweaty I got cutting with my X324. I noticed that I get a buildup of grass on top of the 7 iron deck after cutting so I take the covers for the belts off and just use a Dewalt 60 volt blowed and in 45 seconds I’m done. This is one great mower.
Pros:
Machine is Great BUT the Attachments are awful to change take a look at ventrac( 30 seconds by yourself to switch attachments If deere put their heads together they would corner the market with this machine they should add alot of attachments like ventrac the overall quality is solid but i cant believe that they dont have a better way to change attachments ( takes way too long and you need 3 men to put snowblower on period!! attachments ive tried are awesome (once you get them on) except snowblower ( impeller fan way too small, clogs alot and chute is way too narrow) Check out normand or provonost snowblower for terraincut on youtube thats what it should perform like when you spend 50k on a machine Please consider these Changes dont drop the Ball!!!
Pros:
I upgraded from a 2003, 1565 front end mower to a 2017, 1585 w/cab. The 1585 mower itself is a beast and preforms well. The "comfort" cab is anything but comfortable. The loud engine noise can't escape the cab. To hear the radio the volume needs to be at about 90%. You know, when you get in your car after your teenager has been driving it! The operator needs ear protectors so you really can't hear the radio anyway. The ambient air temp around the sides of the seat is 120-130 degrees. The temperature is within a 1st degree skin burn. Good thing the air conditioner works well. It blows cool/cold air down on my sweating body. Lastly, there are so many holes in the floor and between the cab and the frame that dust inside the cab is major problem. Suggestion, wrap the particulate filter(DPF) in insulation as well the entire back and bottom of the cab.

Cons:
I purchased this unit with the 72 inch side discharge mower and the 60 inch snowblower. I am completely satisfied with the performance of both attachments. What attracted me to this unit was the rear hydraulic grass collection system which apparently has been available in Europe for some time but not in the USA. If this system ever becomes available in the USA, it will become the ultimate lawn keepers dream! I have been patiently waiting for delivery of this system for the past 6 months and continue to be disappointed with delays.
